Herbert H. Bierkan, August 26, 2010

Herbert H. Bierkan 86 of East Orleans died at his home Thursday, August 26, 2010. He was the husband of Louise (Hobbs) Bierkan for 19 years and the late Dorothy (Siegel) Bierkan for 42 years before her death in 1990.

Born in Hartford, CT, Mr. Bierkan was a 1942 graduate of Hartford Public Schools. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, Hartford Chapter in 1952. Mr. Bierkan was vice president of Connecticut National Bank (Bank of America). He retired in 1985, after a 44-year career. During his retirement, he served on various committees for Cape Cod Five Savings Bank.
