2011 marked the third year for the July 4th Fun Run. We had a tremendous turnout with 128 participants ranging from ages 4 – 86.
The Fun Run is organized and sponsored by NausetHeights.org. A voluntary contribution of $10 per individual or $20 per family was recommended. All proceeds are donated to charities.
The Walk/Run event started at the Priscilla Beach parking lot and took participants on a scenic, “back-roads” tour of Nauset Heights for approximately 2.2 miles, finishing back at Priscilla Beach. The course was challenging with steep hills and tricky footing in some areas, but the views were spectacular. The Fun Run is a great social activity that brings neighbors and friends together. Medallions were awarded to all participants at the finish. The overall male and female finishers with the fastest times were awarded the coveted Nauset Cup. The race was lead by the colorful Orleans Police motorcycle detail with flashing lights.
