Dr. Owen Calderwood

Dr. Owen Calderwood died peacefully at his home in East Orleans on May 4, 2013, at the age of 88. Owen led a rich and full life to the end.

Born in Ridgewood, NJ, he graduated from Ridgewood High School and went on to Guilford College, Princeton University (Class of 1948) and Tufts Dental School where he graduated as a DMD in Oral Surgery. Mary A. Williamson

Mary Williamson, 94, a resident of Middlebury, Vermont since 1988 and a homeowner in East Orleans since 1963, passed away early on the morning of April 10th, 2013 at Porter Hospital in Middlebury after a short bout with pneumonia.

Mary was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 27th, 1918, the only child of Burdett and Jesse (Rich) Arms. She was raised in Farmington, Maine. John Joseph Tropsa

John Joseph Tropsa, 83, of East Orleans, Massachusetts died Sunday, February 12, 2012, with his family at his side, after several years of battling a rare progressive disease.

He was a retired executive of the Micro Switch Division of Honeywell. Born in Stamford, Connecticut, March 28, 1928, the son of the late John Frank and Gertrude Tropsa. He was predeceased by three siblings, Louis F. Macsata, Alberta W. Macsata, and Helen E. Marko.

Carlyle Fuller “Hap” Barnes, 87, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012, after a long battle with Type 1 Diabetes. As a 10th generation descendent of the Barnes clan in Bristol, he was the son of Fuller Forbes Barnes and Myrtle Aurelia Ives. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Anne May.

Herbert H. Bierkan 86 of East Orleans died at his home Thursday, August 26, 2010. He was the husband of Louise (Hobbs) Bierkan for 19 years and the late Dorothy (Siegel) Bierkan for 42 years before her death in 1990.
